GLACIER GUIDE

To guide, inform and educate small groups on glaciers. You must be passionate about the outdoors, glaciers and ice. Be good at people management and have good communication and storytelling skills.

Required skills:
•    Extensive Outdoor, Mountaineering and/or climbing experience is required.
•    Hard Ice course or equivalent 
•    First Aid training 

Beneficial skills:
•    Wilderness First Responder Certificate
•    Extended Drivers License 
•    Previous glacier travel 
•    Extended Drivers License recommended but not obligatory.

Our mandatory entry-level guide training starts in April 2017.


Already experienced guides
Experienced guide applicants are IFMGA and AMGA Certified Alpine Guides or guides who have more than 5 years of alpine / mountaineering guiding experience. In addition to the requirements mentioned for entry-level applicants, experienced guide applicants must present a strong climbing or guiding resume, and must have a U.S. Level II (or equivalent) Avalanche certificate.



OFFICE STAFF 
To manage bookings, answer emails, phone calls and receive guests in our cosy down town, eco-office in Reykjavik.

You are organized, independent, hard working, service orientated and patient. You must have previous sales experience. Computer skills as Word, Excel, Office 365 is required.
Multiple languages will greatly increase your chances of work - fluent English is a must.



DRIVER GUIDE
To drive and guide day and multiple day tours for small groups. You must be passionate about Icelandic nature and the world we live in. Good storytelling skills are a must!  

Extended Drivers License is required. Previous guiding experience and languages will benefit you in your application.

First Aid training is required (if you don’t have we will provide the training) and a valid Wilderness First Responder Certificate will greatly benefit you too.


 

DRIVERS AND GLACIER GUIDES FOR VATNAJOKULL GLACIER BASECAMP WINTER OF 2017/18:
To guide, inform and educate small groups in ice caving (seasonal: November-March) in the ice caves of Vatnajokull Glacier. You must be passionate about the outdoors, glaciers and ice. Be good at people management and have good communication and storytelling skills.

The position is based by Vatnajokull Glacier about 5 hours from Reykjavík, shifts are about 1 week long with 3-4 days off between shifts. Lodging and full board is provided.
Our mandatory entry-level ice cave guide training starts in October.
